Leesburg High School is the only high school in Lake County with this unique reading program for our struggling readers. Once a month the PAWS therapy dog teams bring their therapy dogs here to allow our struggling readers to read to them. Why read to a dog? A dog will just sit there and get pets and not judge how the student is reading. The student works their way through sounding out words, etc. . This is our 8th year of having these dogs visit us.
